Vibration Testing

How comprehensive is the vibration testing eg. what equipment does it cover ? etc . How long would it take to go through a training excercise with say a chain saw and a brush cutter ?

Hello BuzzBee

The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 cover a vast array different types of equipment, all hand-held power tools , hand-guided powered equipment ( such as lawnmowers ) are covered by these regulations. Powered machines that process hand-held materials ( pedestal grinders ) are also covered by these regulations.
In regards to your second question, by training exercise what do you mean ?. Do you mean operator training or training on causes and effects of vibration from using such types of equipment ?. If you are meaning how long would it take to perform a test on a brush cutter and a chainsaw, it mainly depends upon the conditions of where the test is being performed and the operator of the equipment. Each handle on the equipment requires three tests of no less than 30 seconds in length, so the more handles to test the longer the procedure.
